BEAUTY BEYOND THE ASHES

Join us on Sunday 2/5 at 9:30 and hear Pastor Clark interview Cheryl McGuinness during our Sunday service.  Open to everyone - men, women, students!

 

Women of all ages are invited to this special evening with Cheryl McGuinness to hear a powerful message of courage, determination and love.  Cheryl will share her story of renewal, recovery and faith and how she learned to hope again after losing her husband on September 11, 2001.  Cheryl’s husband, Tom McGuinness, was the co-pilot of American Airlines Flight 11 – the first airplane to crash into the World Trade Center.

Cheryl is a widely sought after national speaker. Through appearances on programs such as MSNBC, CNN, Good Morning America, The 700 Club and Fox News, Cheryl has shared her experiences and her faith.  She has also been featured in the Boston Globe, the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times as well as Newsweek and Focus on the Family.

Donation: Non-perishable food items will be accepted to help support the local food banks.

Outreach Programs

FIRST RESPONDERS

 

 

Valley Brook’s First Responders ministry is a new outreach program designed to assist young, pregnant women in our local communities faced with unplanned pregnancies.

 

 

 
Valley Brook’s First Responders will come along side these young women and provide them with support they need.  Our goal will be to refer the women to ABC Women's Center in Middletown, CT. 

ABC offers a unique, caring place where a woman can receive the information she needs to make informed choices about pregnancy, abortion, adoption, parenting and her sexuality.  ABC is committed to helping a woman make decisions that she will not regret.

Services provided by ABC Women’s Center include:
–Free Pregnancy Tests
–Free Ultrasound
–Parenting Education Classes
–Maternity Resources/Support
–Sexual Health Education
–Pregnancy Loss Support
–Abortion Recovery Help
–After Abortion Support
–And much more...

ORNAMENT EXCHANGE


 

COMING AGAIN
December 2012

Each year Women's Ministries hosts a special ornament and cookie exchange! 

The evening starts with appetizers and the exchanges follow.  Ladies bring a wrapped ornament with a card attached that has their name and any special prayer requests.  The recipient of your ornament will be asked to pray for you during the coming year.

 

 

Optional Cookie Exchange:
Everyone is welcome to join in some delicious fun by bringing 3 dozen cookies to swap.

BRUNCH & PERENNIAL SWAP


 

 

COMING AGAIN IN MAY 2012!

Join us for our annual brunch and (optional) perennial swap. It’s a relaxing morning that includes great food and the opportunity to connect with other women at Valley Brook!  Women’s Ministries will supply the egg dishes and we ask that you bring a brunch items to share such as:

  • Some type of fruit or fruit dish
  • A meat (such as bacon, sausage, ham)
  • A baked item (such as muffins, bagels, pastry)

Perennial Swap Details:
If you want to participate in the perennial swap, bring your favorite perennial from your garden or one that you purchased; include the plant name, a description & care instructions. 

 

CRAFT TIME

 

 

Do you enjoy crafts...knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, stamping?

Then join Women's Ministries for a "Craft Time" at the home studio of Cheryl Bliss, 103 Petersen Road, Granby.

 

It's a great opportunity to fellowship with other women, meet some new friends and make time to work on that special project or learn a new craft.
