Congregational Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is a time to remember God’s faithfulness over the past year and prayerfully plan for the upcoming year. From 6:30-7:00pm we will enjoy light refreshments together, followed by the meeting promptly beginning at 7:00pm.

Whether you're a Valley Brook member or an attender you're invited to attend and participate in the meeting, with one exception, only members may make motions and cast votes.

During this meeting we'll:

• Review and celebrate how we have fulfilled God’s vision for Valley Brook
  
  
• Vote to elect Kevin Smith to the Elder Board.
  
  
• Vote to re-elect Ken Perry to the Elder Board.
  
  
• Vote on the proposed Operating Budget for the 6/1/24-5/31/25 fiscal year

While everyone that attends Valley Brook is encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting, only individuals that have met membership requirements are able to vote.

ELDER CANDIDATE INFORMATION

Kevin Smith

The Elder Board has unanimously nominated Kevin Smith to serve as an Elder at Valley Brook.

• VBCC Member– Began attending Valley Brook and became a member in 2015
• Dream Team Member– Has previously served as Greeter & Usher and currently, humbly serves alongside Chelsea in the Children's Ministry
• Life Group Leader– Hosting a Life Group along with helping introduce Practicing the Way
• Eager to learn from the Valley Brook Community to serve in future capacities outside the church walls.
• Commitment to Biblical literacy, theology, and hermeneutics.  Have completed many online courses including BibleProject Classroom, NTWrightOnline and Biblical Training. Strong aspirations of pursuing formal education including Seminary, but one day at a time.
• Completed formal Biblical Hebrew classes at the Jewish Community Center in Longmeadow, MA.
• Certified mentor with Education for Ministry, completed formal training in 2017 in Rehoboth, Delaware.
• Served in Euchristic Ministry and Lay Preaching with St. Andrew’s in Longmeadow, MA and hosted Bible in a Year with The Bible Project in 2017.

Kevin has been married to Chelsea Seabury since 2014 and have three children: Kinsley (8), Carlin (5), & Eli (3).  He is an FAA certified Aircraft Mechanic, has worked in aviation for almost 17 years, and currently works as an Aircraft Maintenance Planner for a corporate aviation company in Westfield, MA. Kevin enjoys playing with his kids, dates with Chelsea, reading, podcasts, cheering on the Red Sox, amateur astronomy, and new found hobby of bird watching.

Ken Perry

The Elder Board has unanimously nominated Ken Perry to serve as an Elder at Valley Brook.

Ken has attended and humbly served at Valley Brook since 2002 in the following capacities:

• Elder– this will be Ken’s fourth term as an Elder.
• Life Group leader– Ken has led or co-led an inter-town life group for many years.
• Dream team– Ken currently leads our Usher Team, and has served (or currently serves) on our Finance Team, Missions Team, and Student Ministries Team.
• Building & Transition Team – Ken served on this team as Valley Brook moved into what is now our current campus in North Granby.
• Outreach– Ken has served on our Live Nativity and Egg Hunt Outreach Teams.
• Missions– Alongside his wife Joanne, Ken will be co-leading our 2025 Missions Trip to Guatemala.
